Activity 1: Reliable Sources of Information


Invite students to find three reliable financial sources. Ask them to answer the following questions:

  • What types of source did you find?
  • Who is the author of each source?
  • How do you know if it is a reliable source or not?
  • What are the intentions of these sources?
  • Who are these sources for?

Activity 2: What is a Reliable Source?


Divide students into small teams and have them prepare an infographic that explains how to research using the Internet and how to check the reliability of sources.

Ask students the following questions to help them select essential information to include in their infographic:

  • What constitutes a reliable source?
  • What is objectivity?
  • What are the signs of objectivity?
  • What are some indications of non-objectivity?
  • How can you verify that a resource is reliable?
