Example 1 

Here is a scale drawing of a pool.

  • Using the 1:100 scale, determine the area occupied by the pool in meters.
  • Make a scale drawing of the pool, using a scale of 1:50.

Example 2

Here is a drawing that represents identical windows in a scale of 1:20.

Determine the actual area of the two windows.
